I'm back to work tomorrow.
It's been a long summer, I've had 12 weeks home with my children and I've been proper lazy with them. We also went swimming a lot and watched a lot of movies together.
I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow. I'm starting at a new school, it's a huge Middle School and I don't know anyone. Over the summer I applied for new schools because I was commuting an hour to work and then an hour back. I interviewed and was hired at the first school that gave me a call... only 5 miles from my house!! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. This is my 3rd year working as a teachers aid and earning my science degree as well.
Andy had his yearly check up today. I was surprised to find that it's now mandatory for children at age 11 to be vaccinated against menangitis. Before it was just a college problem. Also the Doctor suggested Andrew get the HPV vaccination, I thought it was only girls that received this at age 9 because it's the virus that's been linked to cervical cancer. However they are now finding that boys can pass it onto girls and by vaccinating boys as well perhaps eradicate the virus? The doctor also told me today that boys can get genital warts later in life that are also linked to hpv.... so Andy received his first of a series of 3 shots today. Oh... my poor Andy... got poked and poked! He was brave though!
I hope that as everyone heads back to school you all have a blessed and safe year!
