I need upcycling advice!!

So.
I acquired this little patio set for free. I'd like to take a wire brush to it and paint it white.
One of the seat bars is missing but I'm not too overly bothered because I can put a cushion on the chair after it's painted. I've never upcycled anything so any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!!

  1. I'm afraid I have no words of wisdom as to how/what to do with them. But, they are cute and will look wonderful when you do get them spiffied up! The perfect spot for a bit of summer-time iced tea or lemonade. :)

  2. Oh wow amazing. Get a wire brush on them or a sander, then pain away.
A couple of pretty bright cushions will look lovely.x

  4. go into Home Depot or Lowes and go to the paint department and pick out a paint that covers rust. A light sanding or use a wire brush to scrape off any loose paint and then paint away. Can't wait to see which colour you choose.

  5. GREAT looking set. I would wire brush it and then use Rustoleum spray paint on it.(they have lots of colors) You could even weave a heavy wire through the spot where the lattice is missing to further stabilize the chair..and paint it right in place. Once you put the cushions on you will never notice it. Great find- xo Diana

  6. I'd ask someone at the hardware store for a base coat that helps repel rust before you paint them. If it was me I'd be cheeky and send it to my brother to do. He has an electric sander for rust :)

  7. Adorable little set... definitely use a rust paint, it will cover no problem... take of the chunky bits first though... a lovely floral cushion and back would be just the cats meow! Cheers~
